A cidade de Hall Statt, na reigião da Alta Austria, onde o trabalho foi realizado, abriga uma das minas de sal mais antiga do mundo, com mais de 7.000 anos. Nos muros e paredes da cidade, as linhas de sal cristalizadas tornam-se mapas ao ser incluída a palavra "Sul" (em alemão Süden), colocada estrategicamente no centro do mapa | The town of Hall Statt, in the Upper Austria region, where the work was carried out, is home to one of the oldest salt mines in the world, dating back over 7,000 years. On the city walls the crystallised lines became maps with the inclusion of the word South (in German Süden), strategically placed in the center of the map.
O sul no centro do mapa questiona a atual crise global e a hegemonia continuada dos padrões económicos, sociais, culturais e políticos que conduziram o mundo a este momento histórico, sinalizando a exaustão criativa, intelectual e política do Norte global, onde o trabalho estava sendo realizado | The South at the center of the map questions the current global crisis and the continued hegemony of the economic, social, cultural and political patterns that led the world to this historic moment, indicating the creative, intellectual and political exhaustion of the global North, where the artwork was being carried out.
